Geoffrey PYLE

Born 1957

Geoff completed his training in 1982 (PCL), going on to work for practices in London, in particular Burrell Foley Fischer and Nicholas Hare Architects. In 1994 he established Pyle Associates, building up a portfolio of projects for private and local government clients, mainly in the arts, residential, health and commercial sectors.

Early in 2003 he established a presence in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and carried out a number of architectural consultancies in the region, in addition to researching modern architectural heritage in Cambodia and consulting for UNESCO. There he set up Pyle Architects Co Ltd in 2009; the company has amongst its clients both international and local organisations. He also promotes appropriate sustainable architecture - a long term interest.

He has an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Architecture.and has been a visiting lecturer at architectural schools in London and Liverpool. Currently he is a part-time design tutor at Nottingham Trent University.

He is fascinated by all stages of making buildings and how they resonate with their users and owners. His prize-winning drawings have been exhibited at the RIBA and the Royal Academy, London.

Duncan PYLE

Born 1966

Duncan began his career at Building Design Partnership in London, working with multi-disciplinary teams on large commercial and retail projects. He has extensive European experience having lived and worked in Paris for four years and been senior design consultant on projects in France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and the UK.

Whilst in Paris he was a key member of the teams developing innovative designs for office, retail and industrial projects including waste treatment plants for which he was twice credited in the publication "Le Moniteur".

He then spent seven years in London as a project leader, senior designer and lead consultant with David Leon Partnership where he was primarily involved in the design of knowledge based research environments. Many clients were household names in the nuclear, pharmaceutical, engineering, food and chemical industries.

He has spoken at The Royal Institution and The Royal Society on the key design factors in effective research environments. In 2001 Duncan set up O2i Design Limited, which is based in Somerset, England.

Scott EDWARDS

Consultant

MArch, BES
Born 1969

Scott trained in Canada at the University of British Columbia and The University of Manitoba, completing his post-graduate Bachelor of Environmental Studies in 1992.

He worked for nine years in Canada for architectural firms, including Busby Associates Architects in Vancouver, on a range of project types which included transport, education, offices and public buildings.

In 2001 he moved to Bankok where he joined Orbit Design Studio; there he was Project Team Leader on several projects including Bed Supperclub in Bangkok, Graham Maitland Smith Residence in Phuket, and Style By Toyota Edu-tainment Center.

In 2006 he established GryphonProjects Design and Management and relocated to Cambodia, since when he has worked with Geoff Pyle on a freelance basis on a number of projects.

In 2008 Scott qualified as a LEED Authorised Professional (US Green Building Council), the first in Cambodia.
